Mary's goal is to create rewarding relationships between people and their dogs. She is a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant through the International Association of Behavior Consultants and has worked as a trainer, behavior consultant and writer for almost a decade. She lives near Greenville, SC and serves the area through her business, Whole Dog Training and Behavior Consulting. In addition to in-home consulting work on behavior problems, she teaches puppy and basic obedience classes, as well as an Introduction to K9 Nose Work at Speedy Paws K9 Performance Center. She is an AKC Canine Good Citizen and Puppy Star class instructor and evaluator. Mary has had numerous articles published in national dog training magazines.
Mary has trained and/or trialed in a variety of dog sports, including conformation, tracking, agility, herding and obedience. She is currently training her Aussies in canine freestyle and competition obedience in preparation for competition this year. She has been active in dog therapy groups as well as Aussie Rescue. She recently bred her first litter of Australian Shepherd puppies and enjoyed playing a role in creating physically and behaviorally healthy dogs who are able to compete successfully as well as become beloved members of active families.
