Margot Lasher, Psychologist & Author

Margot Lasher  has been studying the relationship between dogs and humans for many years. As a psychologist who specializes in relational theory, she saw that for many people, their connection to their animals was just as important as their connection to people. She wrote about this connection in And the Animals Will Teach You and developed her ideas more fully in her recent book, Dog: Pure Awareness. She describes how people and dogs are connected through attunement: they tune into each other’s inner worlds and resonate to each other. This deep, close connection changes our lives. Margot lives in Vermont with her dog, Shiro, and is currently writing about dogs and people for the theater. Shiro had an acting role in her play Other Minds which was performed in Vermont in 2009. Her 10 minute play, Dog Park, will be performed at TenFest in Vermont in 2010. At Camp Unleashed she will lead a workshop on the attunement between you and your dog.
