Welcome from Kay Loveland, Asheville Camp Director
Hello Dog Lovers,
I am looking forward to Camp Unleashed Asheville!
As a Clinical Psychologist in Asheville, I have been practicing, writing, and presenting nationally on animal assisted psychotherapy for over twenty years. Presently I am very involved with the local Pet Therapy Organization, Paws with a Purpose, with my Golden Doodle, Misha, and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Callie.
I have been astounded in my own life, and in the lives of people with whom I work, by the amazing healing power of animals, and feel a sense of gratitude to my own dogs. Misha and I have participated together in agility and obedience work, but never have the two of us been happier than at our first session at Camp Unleashed in the Berkshires.
My goals for Camp Unleashed Asheville are to bring this wonderful experience “down south,” to provide a peaceful spot where the spirits of dogs and their people can soar, heal, relax, and learn. Our dogs deserve this experience of safe freedom off-leash, and we can relish their exuberance, enhance our relationships with them, and meet other wonderful people at the same time.
I am excited to meet all of you and your companions, and truly believe that with the incredible staff, creative and fun workshops, and the gorgeous Camp Green Cove setting, Camp Unleashed Asheville is going to be amazing!
