Kim Brophey, Behaviorist 
Kim has been obsessed with dogs since she was a child and studying them almost as long. She acquired a BA in The Applied Relationship between Human and Animal Behavior and has been working as a nationally certified in-home trainer and behavior consultant in the Asheville, NC area since 2001. Kim has offered behavior consultations at two veterinary practices in Asheville since 2007, and opened the city’s first Behavior Center in 2009, offering expanded services and behavior treatments. A frequent speaker at local colleges, veterinary facilities, and other animal interest groups, she works closely with veterinarians and rescue organizations. Recently she created and teaches an 8-week course, “The 21st Century Dog: A thorough examination of canine behavior and implications for the human-dog relationship in the modern world." Kim has been a voice in the western North Carolina community for dog-friendly training practices for almost a decade, and was honored to be chosen as the Association of Pet Dog Trainers Outstanding Trainer of the Year 2009.
